Introduction & History

MANHA is a not-for-profit (501(c)6) organization founded in 1977. For over 49 years, we have been the dedicated professional community for Missouri’s nursing home administrators.

Our Founding Principles

1

Foster professionalism by the nursing home administrator

2

Offer educational programs and educational materials to nursing home administrators and employees of nursing homes and allied medical personnel

3

Promote the professionalism of long term care personnel thereby improving the quality of care in long term care institutions

4

Act as a catalyst for the improvement of health care and the quality of life, health and social welfare of the public

Why MANHA is Distinctive

This section captures the unique value proposition. It can be broken into three clear focus areas:

Your Support Network

We are a vital resource and support system in a climate of high-turnover and rapid change.

Your Advocate

Beyond our members, we recognize the need for administrators to advocate for the quality of life for the residents they serve every day.

Your Voice

We promote issues pertinent to our members and amplify your concerns to regulatory and political agencies.

Adapting to a Changing Landscape

While we hold fast to our founding intent, our Strategic Action Plan is reviewed annually to meet today’s challenges. Administrators now navigate a landscape of complex regulations, negative public perception, tight budgets, and evolving consumer demands.

Our Evolving Mission

Education

We provide high-quality online education tailored for healthcare professionals across long-term care, hospitals, and home health. Built in collaboration with experts and backed by research, our programs focus on improving care standards. Designed to be engaging, practical, and cost-effective.

Professionalism

Added a focus to foster professionalism, not just promote it, championing what is good about who we are.

Advocacy

Recognized the critical role of the administrator as the primary advocate for residents’ quality of life. “Who better to advocate for the clients we serve?”
